INSTRUCTIONS FOR VIEWING INTERACTIVE MAPS
When you click on a city or town interactive map link, the file will download onto your computer as a zip file. (If you do not have a zip file program on your computer, you will be prompted to purchase or use the evaluation version of WinZip after the download is completed. You may use the Evaluation Version at no cost.) When you open the map file, it will open as an Adobe Acrobat file. All data layers will be turned on when the file is opened.
To manipulate the display of data layers, you must click on the “layers” tab on the left edge of the Acrobat screen and then click View1. There will be five major categories (folder icon) of data and up to seven data layers in each major category. To see the data layers in a category, click the right facing arrow to expand the category.
Turning off a category turnd off all of the data layers in that category. To view selective data layers within one of the five broader categories, first turn on the category and then turn off all layers that you do not wish to view. Data layers are turned on and off by clicking on the “eye” symbol in the left column.
You can zoom in on a particular area by using the pull down menu shown with the magnifying glass on the toolbar.
Please click on the city or town you wish to view. These maps are also viewable at the Resource Library.
