In response to the current local government financial crisis, the Southeastern Regional Planning and Economic Development District (SRPEDD) is offering assistance to cities and towns to deliver services on a regional basis.  This work will initially encompass a Regional Cooperative Purchasing Program, but will expand into helping regionalize other municipal services.

SRPEDD is investigating and offering to help two or more communities work together to share resources, including services, personnel, and large equipment.  This can be a great opportunity to provide new services for city and town residents while minimizing the cost to taxpayer through sharing the position or service with other communities. See the list of Inter Municipal Opportunities below.

Instead of towns individually purchasing large capital equipment, SRPEDD can assist multiple towns with a shared or joint purchase. Alternatively, we can help each town save money under the cooperative purchasing program with SRPEDD conducting the 30B process for a group bid in order to receive a volume discount from the vendors.

SRPEDD’s work is made possible with a grant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts under the District Local Technical Assistance (DLTA) program.
