FFY2017 UPWP Amendments 30-Day Public Comment Period
SRPEDD Announces a 30-day Public Comment Period and Public Meeting for Amendments to the FFY2017 UPWP
The FFY2017 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) has been amended and these amendments have been released for a 30-day public comment period. A public meeting to hear comments and concerns on these amendments will be held at SRPEDD, located at 88 Broadway, Taunton, MA on Wednesday, October 5 at 4 PM.
The first amendment is the addition of a study of the Route 1 Corridor in Attleboro and North Attleborough over concerns of growing traffic congestion along this corridor. The work to be completed in the FFY2017 UPWP includes an analysis of the Route 1 Corridor under its existing conditions with the remaining effort (future development potential and analysis) to be completed in the FFY2018 UPWP.
The second amendment is the addition of a special project called SHRP2 PlanWorks. This project will allow SRPEDD to use a set of tools, under FHWA guidance, to conduct a systematic and comprehensive evaluation of our existing Evaluation Criteria (EC) within the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). This will allow an update and streamline of the process by which TIP projects are prioritized and selected.
The UPWP identifies the annual planning activities that are to be undertaken in the region from October 1, 2016 through September 30, 2017 in support of the goals, objectives and performance targets established in the long-range Regional Transportation Plan.
These amendments and the amended document can be found on SRPEDD’s website at www.srpedd.org for review. Comments are welcome and encouraged on SRPEDD’s Facebook page, by phone (508) 824-1367, e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) or in person at the meeting.
