SRPEDD Announces a 21-day Public Comment Period and Public Meeting for the draft FFY2020 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP). The UPWP identifies in a single document the annual transportation planning activities that are to be undertaken in the Southeastern Massachusetts Metropolitan Area, which is also the SRPEDD region, from October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2020.

May 21, 2019 – the draft FFY2020 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) is being released for a 21-day public comment period. The UPWP is an outline of the transportation planning activities that will be conducted within the area designated as the Southeastern Massachusetts Metropolitan Planning Organization (SMMPO) which is also the SRPEDD region. The SMMPO decides how to spend federal funds for both state and federal funds for roadway and bridge projects, as well as transit projects.

A public meeting to hear comments and concerns on this draft document will be held at SRPEDD, located at 88 Broadway, Taunton, MA on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 4 PM. Everyone is welcome to attend, ask questions and offer comments.

The draft UPWP will become final on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 when approved by the SMMPO at the next meeting.
