INSTRUCTIONS FOR VIEWING INTERACTIVE MAPS

When you click on a city or town name, the file will download onto your computer as a zip file.  (If you do not have a zip file program on your computer, you will be prompted to purchase or use the evaluation version of WinZip after the download is completed. You may use the Evaluation Version at no cost.)  When you open the map file, it will open as an Adobe Acrobat file.  All data layers will be turned on when the file is opened.

To manipulate the display of data layers, you must click on the “layers” tab on the left edge of the screen. There will be five major categories of data up to seven data layers in each major category:

  1. Basic
  2. Legal/Economic Development
  3. Land Use/Planning
  4. Priority Designations
  5. Environmental

Turning off the category will turn off all of the subcategories below it.  If you want to view selective subcategories within one of the five broader categories, you must turn on the major category and turn off all layers that you do not wish to view.  Data layers are turned on and off by clicking on the “eye” symbol in the left column.

You can zoom in on a particular area by using the pull down menu shown with the magnifying glass on the toolbar.
