Signalized Intersection Interactive Map

This page features an embedded Google Map of SRPEDD's Signalized Intersections. Click on a traffic light icon to view level of service (LOS), volume, crash, and delay data as well as general information and pictometry images (bird's-eye views) for each of the map's 355 intersections. Jurisdiction – entity that controls and maintains the signal. Local denotes town owned, and MHD denotes MassDOT Highway Division owned.

Type – Can be one of three categories of signal that control the traffic flow at an intersection:

PT (Pre-Timed) – a Pre-Timed signal will have a fixed timing at all approaches.

SAC (Semi – Actuated) – A Semi-Actuated signal has a constant green phase for the main corridor of an intersection and vehicle sensors installed on the side streets as well as pedestrian signals at all approaches to allow side street/pedestrian traffic to move as needed.

FAC (Fully-Actuated) – A Fully-Actuated signal is one that has vehicle sensors and pedestrian signals on all approaches to allow all approaches to move through the intersection with the least amount of delay possible.

Permit year – Most current signal permit that SRPEDD has on file. A signal permit contains intersection layout, signal timing and equipment information.

Peak Hour Volume – The total number of vehicles entering the intersection during the PM peak hour.

Peak Hour Level of Service – An A through F rating of the efficiency of an intersection based on the delay, with an F rating being the most congested.

ACC per MEV – Accidents per Million Entering Vehicles, or crash rate. A crash rate exceeding 0.77 is considered unacceptable in the SRPEDD region.

EPDO – Equivalent Property Damage Only: a crash rate based on the severity of the crashes experienced at the intersection. A rate exceeding 17.7 is considered unacceptable in the SRPEDD region.
